EMILIE PELLERIN

Emilie Pellerin and I met in spring 2023 on Kalymnos. While climbing a large Tufa on Panorama, I asked her for a spare quickdraw, as I had run out. Later, we talked over dinner about climbing, traveling, South Africa, and life in general. Emilie has a lively personality and a passion for climbing, and we connected quickly.

I spent two weeks with her crushing my lemon trees in a tent. During that time, we talked a lot, climbed, cooked, watched Disney movies, and had deep conversations about life and how we can grow through suffering. Good things often require stepping out of comfort zones. In the end, she achieved her goal of climbing all the Grotta in one day, which is impressive considering her shoulder injury. She came back with a Canadian film crew—Dominique Carpin, Jerome Binette, and Caleb Gingras captured her on Kalymnos.

Being part of this project was enjoyable and fun. I am very grateful for the amazing people I met. Em is energetic, a great athlete, an amazing dancer, and an inspiration in many ways.
